The lens is heavy, but it feels of great quality and build materials.
It has very solid construction, nice weight, and is a really great piece of glass.
If your copy needs calibrating, and your camera body doesn't support af microadjust, you may need to send it in for servicing.
Many good reviews have been written about this lens, so i won't bore you with technical details, chromatic aberration and such.
Price
Overall a very good prime at a great price.

As for the amazon order, this package did not come with a lens hood.
Competitiveness
I think it's just as good as any more expensive lens and its class .
8 as far as sharpness, the big difference is bokeh and for the price the sigma 50mm 1.
I tried shooting with different (loose-fitting) lens hoods in a controlled environment, and results came out in a similar way.
Sure, there are better, more expensive lenses that do the same thing, but if you can't afford one of those, this is a fantastic option.

As for the autofocus the lens seems to have been firmware updated by its previous owner

I didnt get a headache using the af during my weekend photography practice trips so thats one of the reasons why im rating this order high

The only downside with the lens is that theres this weird lens flare that appears as a rectangle when using it against bright light sources which is kind of a bummer if youre shooting street photography in the middle of the day
