Pros

The macro feature softens the pain of not being able to afford a'real' macro lens. Where it really excels is in macro mode. Only thing i would like to have on this lens is a lock to stop the lens from creeping but not a deal breaker.

I think that the speed booster also provides some increase in sharpness as well. Sharp at all focal lengths, and decent bokeh at f4. It's not real fast but it's very sharp in the correct aperture and focal length.

For video, a bit of softness is actually welcome. Putting it on a tripod will get you some very sharp images. That is when i'm able to get my sharpest images.

Sigma 70-300 apo is a workhorse lens with good clarity and no color fringing. When compared to the canon lenses that are on the same level and price point, this is * for tat. This lense is worth the purchase.

Cons

I would recommend to anyone buying cameras/equipment thru amazon to skip right over ace, it's just not worth the hassle. I'm surprised that amazon even lets them be an official merchant.
