Price
For less than this you could get an hdmi usb adapter (or maybe a cheap docking station) and then a dvi hdmi adapter.
These monitors saved money by not having an active osd or soc to control the monitor they need dial link dvi gpu .
The price seems high for something so simple and of older technology.

I cannot properly review since i haven't even removed it from it's packaging since it is unusable for my situation

Actually thats not entirely true i did have a few issues on my 2004 ultrasharp but as that monitor was also having issues with my older evga usb adapter its probably failing

If you change monitorscables while it is plugged in it wont automatically detect the change and adjust

You will need to remove and reinsert the usb plug basically restart it

This isnt too surprising but it could be important if youre using a kvm switch

It might be useful if it did something like provide a usb audio device nothing registers or could inject audio into the digital stream for hdmi devices
