I use pillow protectors because i like to buy high quality pillows and pillow protectors prolong the life of pillows.
They look nice, feel lovely and seem to made of really good quality cotton.

Competitiveness
They will last you longer than cheaper brands and will be more comfortable too.
I use a fairly firm and large silentnight memory foam pillow, and these fit it well and protect it nicely.

I used to feel a bit disgusted if any of the old pillow popped through the case but these protectors mean that the pillow itself is entirely hidden and the protector clean

The protectors have an egyptian cotton exterior the older ones simply said cotton and are styled similarly to a normal household pillowcase with a retaining flap to hold the pillow in situ

For those pillows that are either gussetted overfilled etc and therefore deeper than typical or otherwise generously sized these will probably be impossible to fit

But stitching fabric overall quality of these cant be faulted they really are very very nice and its personal preference whether you use one so i cant remove a star for that

The covers can be machine washed at 40c and dried in a cool tumble dryer

I have never bought silentnight before but they are just as good as john lewis and a darn sight better than lots of cheap and nasty copies
