Firstly if you have a feather or down pillow it is very difficult to remove stains from it and a pillow case is not enough to prevent staining

I have tried machinewashable hollowfibre pillows but found these to be uncomforatble especially after a few washes so i prefer a feather pillow topped with a mattress protector and then a pillow case on top

Secondly if you are allergic to house dust mite as i am you will know that pillows are the biggest source of dust mite that you will come into contact with

I change the protector once a week and my pillow case twice a week in order to stay as free of dust mite as possible
