It is a quilted microfibre cover filled with filled with 100% polyester.
Competitiveness
They are neatly and attractively wrapped in a typical silentnight zip-up bag in clear vinyl.
It fits very well over my silentnight polyester pillows, and the result is even more comfortable than the pillows alone.
They're also a doddle to change and are fully machine washable.

There is probably less to notice if you have a foam pillow my wife has a rigid orthopaedic pillow and didn’t notice any difference probably because the pillow is very smooth anyhow and keeps its shape

It seems to me that a basic pillow protector acts as a barrier between secretions from the sleeping head and the pillow that is its primary purpose

Be careful however that your pillow is not so big that the protector makes it more difficult to fit a cover

Hence my interest in this pillowpimping products which describe themselves as pillow protectors though i dont really grasp from the blurb what a pillow needs protecting from that a pillowcase suffices to defend
