Pros

My 5tb is over 4 yrs old and still running strong with daily use. A rugged 2tb hdd for $55 is really good and this my second product from sp. It’s pretty small and easy to find space for on the stand.

The drives are efficient enough to be run off a rasp pi4, some are not. Comes with a warranty and instructions to reformat their drive.

Cons

Don't let the cool features and snazzy design fool you. I expect it to be ridiculously expensive. Says unreadable. Will not see the drive.

Once you loose this cord, the harddrive is useless. Drive is formatted ntfs and will not reformat. Also tried plugging it into my husbands newer xbox one and it still was undetected.

She got it to work again by wrapping it in one of those cold pack you use for sprains, but that was only temporary also since the cold pack melts after 20-30 minutes, then you have to wait to re-freeze the pack. Have sent emails requesting a return me... Read More

This hard drive is very sturdy and durable.

Id purchased a few other usb external hd's and they broke after a few months which was such a hassle after collecting so much info on them.

Get a pair every 6 months and rotate your data, use older drives for redundancy archiving.

It arrived very quickly, i could set it up easily and now i will never be able to decide what game to play.

Competitiveness

Definitely recommend if you're teetering on this vs another brand get this!

Standard usb is reliable and way better than the connections on the seagate hard drives.

I used many other brands but they were all inferior.

In general any other brand i used never lasted more than 3 years.
