I finished and then opened the door to check, yes the birds are still cheeping even though i can't hear them inside anymore.
Even if this doesn't adhere long term i can already tell this will be worth the effort of a more permanent attachment or replacement

I would always get cold air coming through where the lock goes into the frame and it totally stopped that cold air coming through but that’s why i had to install it on the frame and the door

I purchased a dog door insert that fits in the track of our existing sliding door and the crack between the dog door insert and sliding door would let in cold air and sounds from outside
