Pros

The brushed stainless steel finish adds a touch of elegance to my bathroom decor. It fits just between my subwoofer and computer. This is exactly what i wanted for my small camper van.

The rim securely holds the trash bag, preventing any spills or messes. The bags fit well, so there are no loose plastic bag edges marring the appearance. The open lid secures the bags so they stay in place.

This is my second simplehuman trash basket (the other one is a lidded design) bins fit very neatly under cabinets, clearing hinges, plumbing, pull-out trays. If you are looking to move away from large garbage receptacles in your food area this is it.

Cons

Recycling bin causes marital discord. Not durable.

The heavy base and strong construction ensure that it stays in place, even when disposing of heavier items.

Wipes down easy and children can empty and reload bags easily.

Perfect size for our household as we do not purchase any pre-packaged items which makes refuse minimal.

I looked at every trash can on amazon and this was the only one that was large and didn't look like it belonged in the kitchen.

So i decided to hang an upright sleek paper towel holder & purchased this small attractive open profile trash can.

Competitiveness

Sure, they are more expensive than other brands but the quality is always top notch.

The price is definitely a bit high, but oddly there were no good alternatives in this form factor with an open top.
