Pros
The camera is durable, lightweight, protected from the elements, and easy to use. The only complaint is that it came without the handle-bar strap that attaches to a bicycle. Great inexpensive action camera.
For sub 50 bucks at this point this camera is a steal. All the caveats listed in said extensive reviews are agreed with in this house. It all depends on helmet. For the money its worth it.
The only thing separating this camera from a gopro is the anti-shake (and maybe durability? Not only is this inexpensive for that process, and a way easier potential loos than a 400 dollar gopro, it holds up for many runs.
Camera is dependable, takes high quality videos, and is very tough. Takes great stills and works great for video if you put it on a tripod or can hold it pretty solidly.
The sj4000 has a more extended menu of settings for all actions and environments. These sj cams are some of the only ones left that have the auto on and record and auto off feature when the key is turned on and off.
Cons
The * that control the menu (the up/down *) broke and wont function. It's like they are just floppy and loose in the camera. The only plus is the extra batteries.

The video and picture quality is unmatched for this price.
The camera is very easy to use and the quality is great.
The screen is not touchscreen, so you have to navigate menus with the buttons.
The first one has issues with the wi-fi connection constantly dropping between the camera and my phone.
Price
The quality of this camera for the price was really good.
The quality you get for the price is amazing and it's easy to use the kids figured it out in no time.

Competitiveness
It was cheaper than the competition but works very well.
This was purchased to replace an older model sjcam that was mainly used as a dash cam.
Would not trade it for a brand name competitor camera.
I have owned an sjcam m20 camera as well and it is a out on par with this sj4000 camera in terms of quality of photos.

However the camera lens had issues which the color and when emailing sjcam they said it also seems to be the lens but offered no solution
