Sk hynix is one of the best nvme ssds you can buy. They are up there with samsung as far as chip making goes. Compared to my saumsung and wd black drives, this one is nearly twice as fast on some of the benchmarks.

It's the motherboard mfg's that provide it. Some reviews say this runs a bit hot, and it doesn't come with a heatsink. Make sure to read your motherboard guide on adding an extra thermal pad.

Gen 4 drive runs hotter than the gen 3 drive. Also, i'm happy this is a single-sided nvme as my older gen 3 drives were double-sided. There was no issue with going from gen 3 raid 0 to mixed gen 4 + gen 3 non-raid nvmes on this board's so-dimm slot.

Cons

No firmware or other updates available for this platinum model. After explaining the problem and requesting where any support could be found, their response was we just sell, sk hynix has no support.
