Pros & Cons
Pros
Tiny speaker is about the size of my hand and has a little loop for hanging and a silicone bumper on the back to allow the sound to be better when it's used on a flat surface. Sound is surprisingly good for a speaker this size, especially the bass.
Easy to setup and use thru your bluetooth. Battery life seems insanely long. I have another go-to bt speaker from a few years back that's aging out.
The skullcandy ounce+ipx7 is waterproof and has a rear passive radiator, which is surrounded by a rubber trim that the speaker sits on. Being a water proof speaker, i feel confident having it externally attached to me while i am out adventuring.
Music sounds good - not tinny at all. This stereo is efficient, clean sound and long battery life.
I am a harsh critic and this one wowed me. This isn't earth shattering or anything, it is just nice to see a decent speaker for around $30 or below. It kicks the penned red golf speakers * and that's a $60 speaker.
Cons
Overall it's a cheap, tinny speaker with a weird vibrating rubber gimmick. It's intended to mimick bass, but just ends up muting itself.
Highlights
Quality
The sound quality is amazing for its size.
They are well made and sounds good.
The three buttons work to pair it, volume up and down, and to skip to the next or previous tune/clip.
This small speaker, the ounce+ by skullcandy, is not meant to blow you away with a full range of impressive sound, which is not... Read More
Price
I would highly recommend it for sure and the price point is awesome too.
At the price under twenty-five dollars, it will be hard to beat.
I have listened to a ton of tiny speakers and finally here is a sub $30 speaker (at time of review) that sounds.
For the price point of $30 i'm pleased with it.
Packaging/appearance
As an added bonus the packaging is 100% recyclable.
Seems like skull candy actually tuned this one before putting it in the slick packaging.
Would make a lot of sense if they sold these in a two-pack.
Competitiveness
Compared to others this size it's not the loudest but i don't mind as it serves it's purpose.
