It does not lie flat on my chest and is too bulky to wear under a jacket, as my smaller sling bag does.

The main compartment has a divider so you can place your ipad mini in and even a smaller hydration bladder

The sling itself has a compartment perhaps a good place for chapstick or a smaller cellphones headphones etc

The sling rests on your right shoulder if the pack is on your back and vice versa left shoulder if you opt for more security resting on your chest

I suppose the only drawback if you have to nick pick is not being able to have options to carry over your left shoulder should you opt to sling it on the back
