Jorgen’s parents are successful and wealthy so he grew up nurtured and shaped into another successful leader. Brandon sanderson does such a good job with characters that you care about, and he is endlessly inventive.
Spensa has her faults, and she feels alone facing those who disparage her father and his actions. Cobb is the greatest instructor and mentor ever written. Rig is a great best friend and i truly hope he gets more of a role in the sequel.
Cons
The book is so bland and indistinct starting with the first chapter. It is like a bizarre mash up of hot shots!
The behavior that was cute as a kid seems cheesy and unrealistic for a young adult. The characters are flat and one dimensional. What danderson handled really well in renegades completely falls flat in skyward.
