Pros

First listened on audiobook. Thank goodness, yet again, for buddy reads and friends who love to read the same things as i do. Loved the humor.

Spinna is a 17-year-old fighter pilot on a planet called detritus. Her journey to become an ace pilot is one of the best i've ever read.

Spensa is a human trapped on an alien planet. She is the heroine in this story. Cobb is the greatest instructor and mentor ever written.

Cons

The book is so bland and indistinct starting with the first chapter. The most insulting part is the epilogue. Problems with pacing at critical moments.

The ai is a lame trope and not funny. They are so heavy-handed it is laughable. Such a disappointment.

The behavior that was cute as a kid seems cheesy and unrealistic for a young adult, especially with all the hardships she must have endured. The characters are flat and one dimensional.
