When you or your young child will be sleeping on top of something that contains vinyl for 816 hours a day its not worth taking the risk

This mattress cover is not quite like any of the others just mentioned

It has a thin clothlike top similar to the individual pad but it covers the whole mattress like the vinyl and nonwaterproof ones

Honestly im not too sure how to describe it but i would say that the thing looks like a regular mattress cover not thick though with what looks like a very thin terrycloth towel covering the entire top and what looks like a very thin tarp underneath
