Quality
Cooks illustrated has consistently written the best cook books i've ever used and this is right up there with the others.
The quality is okay, but spiral binding would be more appropriate.
As my family grows i am realizing i don't always have time to get fussy with the details which is why i knocked off a star.
Packaging/appearance
This book will really help you step out of the box.
Competitiveness
Many excellent recipes with flavours from all over the world.
I've tried several recipes already and they were a success.

Note if you do not like prep work for slow cooker and want easy throw together in a pot and wait type of recipes this book is not for you

As usual the authors go into details regarding why they made certain modifications to the recipes and why traditional recipes would not work as well

The book is visually great and has many helpful tips and instructions particularly the paragraph with every recipe that explains what the testers did and why they did i and why some things dont work

I enjoy prepping ingredients and dont mind taking the time but if youre looking for a dump and go sort of book you may wish to look elsewhere

This would have been a 5 star book had it been updated but it wasnt hard to substitute the cooker for the fry pan as everything else was the same
