I removed the bottom part and i connected it with the plate of my tripod.

A well-made piece of kit for mounting a gopro on top of a dslr or any cold shoe mount.
Much better quality than the one which came with my neewer ring light
The unit will also take a canon g7x without a problem.

I solved the problem with extra washers under the unit but if the tightening adjuster had a slightly smaller radius it would make things easier

Bought this to capture some off roading it attached to the roof bars by sliding in the groove and locking in place it kept the camera steady to capture the whole journey
