Would not be effective to prevent jerry can theft by someone without tools but strong hands would be effective locking to basket height only

Real good construction but i bought a 5 gallon scepter gas can canadian model and it is the same looking one as shown in the product pictures and damn its a tight fit literally had to use a mini sledge to smash it down far enough to latch it in place
