Pros

Great addition to my sso slimline hybrid bumper for my 2016 tacoma. Spooled it up after installation pulling my jeep up a hill. There is a collar with internal splines that holds the hex shank wich drives the gear assembly.

High quality product, the remote is awesome. Previously owned a 9500xrc and was very pleased. My only complaint is i bought here on amazon new, yet the item i got was clearly used or refurbished.

Winch is fantastic. Winches for hrs and the 17. Great winch. Has a very nice look imo.

Cons

Smittybilt customer service isn't the greatest either. Scratched the * out of the top of the winch trying to figure out how to mount it but could not. After hours of troubleshooting the manuel suggest a bad solenoid.

The l brackets included with the winch to mount the solenoid pack to the top of winch do not fit. Even with the car parked right up against the trailer ramps it cuts out before it is all the way on the trailer. If it breaks the rope is the last thing ... Read More

Very sturdy and just great winch would highly recommend

-extreme power and pulling capability-never failed on several pulls.

Use two wrenches tightening the wires on the motor, the posts are brass and i broke one when i used a socket wrench.

Price

The price was very good and affordable to buy.

Great winch and a great price compared to a warn smitybilt came through on this.

Don't think that's right to charge someone full price for a used or refurb item and not disclose that fact.

For the price it is a good fit for my style of use

Competitiveness

Since warn and smittybuilt both have the chinese build their winches i bought this smittybuilt because it was cheaper than the warn.

(smittybilt 12k) practically the same thing as the 10k.
