Pros
They work best if they're under both the sheet and mattress pad. The mattress pad absorbs most of the moisture and the underpad keeps the mattress totally dry--as long as it's placed well. I have an elderly cat that likes to pee in a box.
Cons
No cotton for absorbency in. These are not only terribly non-absorbent but they tear incredibly easily. The plastic also does not glide well across bedding. Allows urine to pass all the way thru to mattress topper.

If youre dealing with a bedwetter i suggest making a bed in layers these pads mattress pad sheet more of these pads another mattress pad another sheet

Then if theres an accident in the middle of the night you only have to pull off the top layers and strip off the wet jammies and everyone can get back to bed
