The sides are made of a sturdy plastic with slats in it so your baby can breathe if they press their little face up against it

I would swaddle them up lay them down and theyd be out

If you are keeping it on your bed or couch it will do its job but to take it around for travel i do not recommend it because the light does not stay in place

But a negative outside of the bed is please don’t use any blankets no bibs nothing of any kind should be within any sleeping area no teddy dolly nothing
