It is hard to tell if it is on or off as it is just a push button

I pushed the onoff button and installed the lights and it all worked fine

If you install yours and they dont work try hitting the onoff button and leaving it another night as it is impossible to tell what the solar panel is set on when it arrives

The solar panel has two buttons on the underside one is power the other is the mode switch

Once youve decided where you want the lights and are ready to hang them up youll need to install the solar panel
