For the money the quality is great.
And the quality is really quite good.
Price
Had the stock a6000 lens and decided it was time to upgrade.
Packaging/appearance
I also have the sel1018, sel50f18, sel35f18, and the kit selp1650 (which i never use).
Competitiveness
Loving using it with my sony a7r
By far a much better lens than the sel1650 kit lens which oringally came with my a6000.
And finally, this lens is small, compared to old-school 70-200mm zoom lenses with the same apertures wide open.
I have a sony a6000 and am only interested in photography so this lens was perfect.

Cons are sometimes hunts for focus in low light vignetting on wide angle end doesnt obey the incamera focus setting have to use the afmf switch on the lens

This auto functionality allows not only me but my wife and the occasional person willing to volunteer to take a picture of us to get as good a picture as possible

Currently i have the a6500 and was feeling not so positive about the whole camera system and had considered moving on to another brand
