Pros & Cons
Pros
Brighter than previous gen oleds. A bit on the pricey side when considering the same panel in the samsung is roughly 40% less. It’s pricey but we’ll worth it.
Absolutely stunning picture. Nicely done sony. Colors are very realistic.
Only gripe about this is the google tv interface, which (like every other google product) still seems to be in beta testing. Smart features work well and it's nice to know there is not loss vs coming from an external device.
Cons
Tv sound is passable but if you care about immersive sound you'll need a separate sound system. Noticeably unnatural & uncinematic. No home wi-fi can be connected.
Highlights
Quality
We watched some videos on netflix, crunchyroll, and youtube and quality was astounding.
As my first oled tv, i am very satisfied with the upgrade.
Even with the knocked down price i would not get it.
I have no desire to get a sound bar, and watch my tv with the tv sound 75% of the time, and only put the sound thru my stereo, ... Read More
Price
Looks great best picture ever you won’t be disappointed price is high but sometimes you just have to go for it
If cost is not that much of a deterrence, then the a95k is for you.
If cost is of concern then i'd go with the g2.
Nit-picky, sure, but for what this tv costs i am allowed, imho.
Packaging/appearance
The one thing i was not at all happy about was a dirty screen out of the box.
They share the same screen, and the differences are in the manufacturers approach to image processing and sound.
Competitiveness
Better than my 6-year-old lg soundbar, but i still paired it with an a5000 sony soundbar using the tv speakers as the center channel.
(this is my first new tv since a 16 year old 46” sony 3rd gen lcd with ccfl backlighting, which finally started giving out on t... Read More
The service has many imax hdr films that pop like not even a bluray can do.
Also keep in mind that there is no room to position your soundbar in front of the tv.
