The build-quality is sublime, as expected from a zeiss-branded lens. Sharpness is however not everything, and i do love it's zeiss-esque color rendition. It's so sharp and contrasty, and has that zeiss look.

The lens sits well on the a7rii camera body. It also feels well-balanced on the smaller and lighter a6500. It has 5 axis image stabilization. Because of the crop sensor, i can crop into whatever part of the picture i need.

I still can’t believe the great price i paid for a legit, brand new, usa warranty eligible sony zeiss lens.

Packaging/appearance

Using clear image zoom and ibis on the a7sii this simple 55 has incredible versatility.

Update: i've now been using this lens on the a6500 which has in-body image stabilization.

Competitiveness

2 also olympus em5 mk2 with olympus finest primes.
