Fps allows me to digitally zoom and pan in post. It's like an optical finder only (imho) better. Only limitation is slightly few lens options, but this takes so much better pics, that seems less relevant.

The a6300 thrives on having a quality lens attached. Imo, all the gushing reviews with hyperboles are correct. It definitely is a heavier, sturdier and all around camera.

Turn off the shutter sound in “silent shooting” and also the “audio signals” at the last pulldown with the suitcase symbol. Rolling shutter. The results when shooting bracketed raw are amazing.

In response to the camera heating up. I'm sure it does have some internal seals however. For video work it's stellar!

Cons

It's really awful. Something as trivial as filming a dog taking a * on the lawn is just not practical with this camera. Have to pull battery to get do anything. Sent it back to warranty.

Sony’s raw files are in a proprietary. The software is full of glitches. The “zoom” interface of playback is difficult to use.

Packaging/appearance

It is compact, light, and so easy to shoot with right out of the box.

The panasonic lumix g85 was a serious contender because of its touchscreen, ibis and 4k video without overheating.

On my last trip i noticed quite a few features available in the a6300 not available in the a6000.

Competitiveness

Nice and lightweight, this camera can be put anywhere and still deliver a high-quality product.

Considerably less $pendy than the a6500, and except for the touch screen seems to be identical.

Because it's a pain to edit vs 10bit or raw formats.

In the end, i returned it and opted for the sony a6500, instead.
