Pros & Cons
Pros
I'm not a professional photographer, but i wanted a good quality camera to take better pictures without lugging around a bulky dslr full frame. The quality of the image capture is insane!
This camera is a joy to use. It's one of those cameras that makes me want to go out and do something. Other than that its fantastic.
Full time auto focus is what sold me. Your old alpha glass with the le5 adaptor responds quickly while auto focusing.
The camera is light and forms a slight l-shape, easily carried in one hand. The ergonomics gets a little better as well. Dust and moisture sealing. For my needs the pros outweigh the cons.
The 35mm pulls you closer to the screen, and the 55mm will pull you even closer. All of these lenses are sharp and the af is perfect. I have the equivalent of 525mm with a9 af in a package that’s less than 3 lbs.
Cons
The a6600 is a terrible camera. The focus is horrible and off 90% of the time or more. The pictures look clean on the camera screen usally but then when i look at the gallery they are all unclear and blurry. It's utterly useless for youth sports in lo... Read More
Highlights
Quality
I found a deal (separately) on the carl zeiss f/4 16-70mm lens and the image quality is staggering on both photo and video.
The overall picture and video quality is superb.
I can't stress enough that there is virtually no difference in image quality between this apsc camera and the much larger full ... Read More
Due to the quality there appears to be a mild lag, especially when comparing it to any other system that is available.
Price
I like everything bout this sony a6600, but the price lol.
Packaging/appearance
This same sensor has been used since 2014 on the a6000.
I finally upgraded from the a6000 which i purchased months after its release.
Competitiveness
The positive features on this camera really stand out and put it ahead of the competition.
I have a a6500 and this is still a decent upgrade!
I opted out of getting the stock lens and purchased a sigma f1.
The sony's biggest competitor in this class is probably the fuji series cameras.

But for the rest of us you need to know that the camera will not work until you buy a lens to go with this base unit

You are better off buying this base model and buying your own lens because you can get a much better lens for the same price difference
