The stock lens is impressive, and can only get better as you customize with better sony, sigma, or other specialty lenses. It was discounted $200 from $799 to 599. Competes with cameras costing 1500 to 2000 $.

The 4k is sharp and clean with vibrant colors and impressive detail. It works with 1080p but you can definitely tell the difference when using the video switcher. Great 4k footage and pictures and great even with the kit lense.

Cons

The battery drains when in usb streaming mode, even when the power over usb setting is on. The crop factor at 4k 30fps is already notable-- so adding the crop factor of any form of ibis just cuts down the resolution of the footage.

Lens was shipped with lens completely disconnected with exposed sensor and lens element. Uncomfortable to hold with 2 hands, the best option is to mount it, which is an accessory not included. Lcd screen is tiny.

We shoot in a cold studio environment and like clockwork, the camera always overheats and turns off at the 50-60 minute mark.

Let’s be honest this camera is beast mode and let’s not even go into detail about the image quality and video 4k quality!

The price drop and the included kit lens were an extra bonus.

For the price of this camera, i was amazed i wanted a budget camera since i was just getting into photography.

And don’t forget $860 plus the loan from affirm, basically 2 payments for the 1 camera i ordered.

It was discounted $200 from $799 to 599.

Shipping

I ordered this camera on tuesday morning and received it the following day (super fast shipping, which was awesome).

I had a hard time getting this but this was not the fault the shipper but usps.

Packaging/appearance

The white it comes in really is beautiful.

Upon inspection all accessories were still sealed and the camera was very securely wrapped in bubble wrap.

Camera was new , seemed like original packaging , tracking for package was poor because it came ups

I unpacked the accessories and; inserted the battery into the camera to charge.

Competitiveness

In fact, the lcd screen compared to other competitors is limited-- the full image doesn't extend maximally to the lcd screen edges.

Even the a6400 and other cameras have the screen open on the top (just has a double hinge vs the a5100).
