Easy to use, easy to understand, auto function does everything for you. Takes fabulous photos if you use it correctly in a given situation. The macro mode is my favorite mode.
Tiny camera has 10x optical zoom that works well. Easy to use, even for the very beginner. It zooms like i wanted and the pix are crystal clear.
Although it does not have quite the telephoto range of the competitive nikon, it has a clearer lens. Stabilized lens elements allow people with shaky hands to get good pictures.
Very nice ergonomic touches with pads on the front and back for added support. It feels solid and */dials are ergonomically positioned on my feeling/fit. It is a bit heavier than i was expecting, but that's ok.
Cons
The easy setting is useless for scenery shots because it has no manual override. I have to adjust it lower whenever i plan to use it otherwise it washes out the color of the subject. If i get sidetracked editing some photos and leave the camera on the... Read More
Memory stick duo is slow and proprietary. This is not even sonys latest and greatest.
Unless the subject is perfectly still, chances are the picture will be blurry. The default color and light intensity settings greatly overexpose the pictures. Therefore, the pictures are over exposed and under saturated in color.

I bought this camera a year ago for about 1/2 the current price and it takes great photo's.
I wanted to keep the cost down so i bought used and and extremely happy so far.

Packaging/appearance
My sony cybershot was stolen in a home burglary this past yr and i thought i wanted to upgrade so i got the sony alpha 55.
The best thing about it though the camera was still in the same box and the accessories were still in the plastic packaging.

I've tested the fuji x10, kodak z915, samsung sl620, samsung sl50, and a few under the $99 mark and none of this compares to my dsc-h20.
I tried replacing it with another sony, and with a panasonic, but i was very disappointed with them.
Battery and battery charger are not sony original maybe thats why life is shortened compared to a previous sony camera i had.

There are additional lenses available for it but i never found that was necessary with the 10x zoom and some adjustment on my computer
