One note: the zeikos professional wrist grip strap for digital and film slr cameras does not work well with this camera.
Price
Fast burst rate, high-quality display, raw files render well in lightroom.
Packaging/appearance
The sony sdhc 32gb card was in sony's original packaging and this was my favorite accessory that was included.
After receiving the camera the next day i opened it and the sony box was sealed, all the accessories were in their original packaging.
Competitiveness
I looked into others such as the canon gx1, canon gx15 and nikon coolpix p7700.
This is not a light wieght camera but still carries well and easily fit into a packet.
The nikon was the only serious competitor but it's low megapixel rating kept me away.
Worth every penny, blows its competition away.

One thing that i havent been able to figure out so far is why even though i have chose large as pic size and fine as pic quality mi jpges range from 5 to 7 mp never aproaching the 17 that the camera is theoretically capable of

Lots of quality settings that really matter when you want a small prosumer style camera instead of carrying around your big slr

Main reason for 4 stars is that there are so many features that learning to use the camera is a difficult and lengthy taskand using even the common features is therefore more complex to learn about
