Pros
Cosmetically perfect, no scratches or dents. Easy to setup and it connects to my tv and hdmi switch very quickly.
This compact unit performs as excepted. Hdmi to your tv. Digital out to your receiver. Hd 1080p even on a 4k t.
The remote is a bit clunky but it has what you need stop, play pause, fast forward/reverse. The remote has a fast/slow play button.
Cons
After viewing maybe 15 or 20 dvds, the unit freezes. It plays fine until it decides to stop working and freezes. After 6 months, stopped playing some dvds, or played with skips and distortions.
When the disc rotates the tracks circumference becomes uneven and the servo has trouble tracking. No matter what dvd is put in it comes up with error message that it can not read the disc.

Smaller than the original dvd player, runs quietly and the price is really reasonable.
Very simple set up, beautiful picture, and excellent price.
Packaging/appearance
Static like fuzzy ants were on the screen.
This is my fourth sony dvd player and the first one where the remote control was defective straight out of the box.
But my dislike is the packaging, or lack there of.

I’m pretty tech savvy but all i wanted to do was change the aspect ratio and the directions absolutely did not help
