Pros

The lens is very snappy with lightning fast autofocus. It has a switch that makes going from auto focus to manual focus very easy. Focussing on them is super-fast and reliable. The zoom range is great.

I love that it has a customizable button on the side. It has optical image stabilization, and that it is weather sealed.

This lens is great. Great walk around lens. Outstanding lens. Works excellent.

The 24-105 is the heaviest lens i have. It's light enough to carry all day. My family goes hiking and travels the outdoors/pnw in good weather. It eliminates the need to carry around multiple lenses.

If you're the kind of person who doesn't like swapping lenses constantly, this is your lens. It's my new all-around workhorse, and i recommend it highly. You have to think about what you primary use it for then pick a lens that best suited for it.

Cons

This lens has a great focal length range, but anything in the periphery is terrible. It is ridiculously bad at shorter focus distances, say 1 meter or less. At $1400, this lens is a joke.

Build quality is not quit up to canon l glass, but don’t let that hold you back.

Iq surpasses my l series 24-105 and autofocus using my a7r2 was fast and spot on.

Competitiveness

I will carry this lens and my sigma 56mm f/1.

I'm using this with an a7ii and it's a huge upgrade from the 28-70 f3.

Well after long time of saving i purchased a sony a7ii with a kit lens.

Hope this helps, it's worth every penny compared to a $2400 f2.
