Highlights
Quality
Been shooting for over 30 years and this is the best long lens i have ever used.
Image quality is outstanding on its own and also with the sony teleconverters, which this new version supports.
The shade combined with clouds had my iso over 6400 the whole day.
It is incredibly small and light, extended of course much longer, but closed, super compact.
Price
I didnt like that you had to sink another $500 into a teleconverter to get the thing to become a real macro.
If it was about $300 cheaper i probably would've kept it.
Ok this lens is a perfect for ppl who wants bang for their buck.
Shipping
Those pictures were captured the day of the eclipse.
It just arrived but my test shots are very exciting.
Competitiveness
Also now ai denoise are so good that f2.
While i also have the sony 200-600mm lens, i prefer the 100-400mm for its smaller size and significantly lower weight.
I know ppl giving 3 star comparing 1699 lens to 2799 lens which is also heavyweight and takes more space.
