The digital zoom is amazing up to 20x before it starts loosing most of it's quality. It makes a beautiful crisp video. The quality is exceptional!

The hd looks incredible on my tv. Don't forget that bikini wax. The picture is unbelievable hooked up to a hd lcd tv. Even without hd the quality is high and watching on 32 inch or less, it appears the same.

Quality

I got this camera and pleased with it's look, video quality and ease of operation.

And vegas will interface with the camera to grab the files.

Unfortunatelly sony vegas does not support avchd disk production so the output quality was similar to my old camcorder dcr-dvd 403.

It runs only on the sony utility (given along with the purchase).

Price

We purchased this before christmas and the price was perfect ($300 less than what we saw in best buy and circuit city).

Competitiveness

I have not used that as i have tried to scour the web to find a coverting program that is econimcally feasible to buy.

You have to obtain a blu-ray dvd recorder (at least $500) and you must also own a blu-ray dvd player (or playstation 3) for your hdtv.
