Pros
The audio is really good. The sound quality isn't extraordinary, but the battery seems to last far longer than i'd every hoped.
The built-in usb that slides out is super convenient for charging and file transfers. I like that the usb port has a little flap that closes over it when you retract it.
The sony has both mic and headphone jacks. I have a mid-side microphone and the recordings are amazing. The only downside is that you don't have a ton of control over mic gain.
This is rechargeable tascam takes 2 batteries. It has a long lasting built in battery that is easily charged via its built in usb connector. Minutes of charging grants 1 hour of recording battery time.
It records at the exact same quality as the podtrack pro from zoom. It can easily be misplaced if your not careful so always back up your recordings. Good clarity of recorded voice. Most often, i start recording in the car and set it in the cup holder... Read More
Cons
It records louder on the left channel than the right. But playback is very poor. And if anyone from sony reviews this then it is time to build in a cheap camera i had an olympus one that did that.
Only the storage space can be seen after plugging into the computer, without any other files. This pos shows 2 files one day 5 another etc.

I will admit the device could be a bit larger to accommodate a larger battery as 500ma according to the manual isnt exactly enough for doing all what this device features as requires

I have run into an issue where when recording the battery as mentioned does drain quite fast as after a full charge after about 3 recordings varying in size does not meet the 5h claim at 192kbps or below described in manual
