Pros & Cons
Pros
For the price this gives you one of the biggest punches for your money. A very useful well build and impressive camera. Sony are really out innovating everyone else at the moment love what they are doing. I use these quite alot, they are really good.
The canon eos 5d mark iii is a very portable and lightweight camera. It is lightweight and chunky without feeling heavy. The only negative is battery life, it's not great, a couple of hundred shots.
The a7ii is a sturdy, well built camera with a reassuring yet non cumbersome weight to it. Sublime image quality, so so battery life and much heavier than the original a7. For best video, sublime af and compact size i go to the a6300.
Cons
This camera is for tech geeks, not photographers. It's the most complicated over engineered camera i've ever experienced and i regret buying it. I'm a tech geek, not a photographer.
Highlights
Quality
The video quality is up to full hd and will shoot up to 120fps for slow mo stuff.
If image quality is all that matters to you then the a7 range will not disappoint.
With the a7ii i am not able to have a decent photo if it is an evening and enough light is not available.
With the exception of the fe 50mm, the cheap stuff is mediocre.
Price

Packaging/appearance
I have 4k in the a6300 if i need it so i don't miss it on the a7ii.
Competitiveness
I shoot for fun, not for money or to win competitions.
There are some downsides, especially when compared to my previous camera, the fujifilm x-t2.
But the benefits of this ultra-light combo just makes it a no-brainer for holidays.
And in the end i would have been happier to even return to micro 4/3 and the olympus e-m5 ii.
