Wow that's terrible at this price point.
If you want to spend twice as much money on a pair of buds just because they have sony written on them, then be my guest.
At this price point i would have expected that to be standard.
If you pay this much for a pair of buds then they should include it in the price.

These just arrived today, so after i set up the basics, the first thing i did was take them down the gym for a workout!

Sony has packed these earbuds with several lifestyle features that make them super convenient for daily wear.
There was no manual in the packaging so it was hard to figure out the controls at first.
From the packaging to the product i could tell that the product was professionally made.
Competitiveness
There are many similarities between these and the sennheiser sport, but the latter give you a heart rate sensor too.
They provide excellent sound compared to other buds i've used, including airpods.
I have used other brands, but this one is much better.
