These headphones are great while they last, but after about 3 months, the left earphone dies. They break easily and are basically disposable. I was extremely discussed that amazon is charging $150 for headphones that are worth no more than $10.

These last the longest and have great sound quality.

1st pair i had the right ear piece lost all function, after 10 years.

Every other pair i had broke when one side stopped working.

Price

Excellent for the price i paid - $7.

I got my last pair for around $8-9 on fleabay around 2010.

I bought these from amazon in 2012 for $8.

Then you see amazon is selling them for $150 and that is when it hits you.

A week or so later, you go back and they still haven't restocked.

I thought i was buying a pristine new pair just manufactured, but the packaging is really old and not sealed.

The date on the packaging is 2007 and the packaging is really banged up.

But it is original packaging and even included instructions, so i'm wondering if this just sat somewhere unused for all these years.

My only complaint is in the packaging.

Competitiveness

I tried a brand called edifier that's some generic chinese brand.

I bought both the w08ls and the a35gs and am unable to make a difference between either as performance goes.

The kph14s aren't quite as good as the sony but close enough and at a reasonable price.

Commuting to that first "grown up job" with fear of a black planet on the old headphones.
