Pros

Minidisk player is by far the best option when it comes to portable music. Mz-n505 makes it a breeze build playlists, and burn md's. The headphones aren't great, but you can always get another pair.

The battery life on this unit is awesome. It is extremely small and compact. An a/c car adapter is pretty unecessary.

It's awsome having all of nirvana's albums on one disc via lp4 recording. The bundled software, simple burner, allows you to copy cds to the minidisc via the usb port.

Cons

Highest quality (sp mode) is only lp2 and lp4. If you copy mp3's to the md in sp mode, what you're getting is just lp2 converted to pcm, then the n505 itself reconverts the pcm to atrac.

Since then the software give me endless trouble. And don't do anything while it installs, otherwise you have to start over again. The other reviews say that it is buggy.

I dont record in that mode because its hard to enjoy the music when the quality is so bad.

I do not use the earphone as provided with the product.
