This is a great little dap for iem's and low impedance headphones. I use wired headphones most of the time and the sound quality is amazing. Unless you have really high impedance audiophile headphones, this isn't an issue at all.

Quality
Sony has been great build quality, sound, battery, etc.
This is an amazing device to listen to, with the capability to play high resolution music.
I bought this thinking i would send it back if it didn't noticeably improve audio quality.
Took the leap after getting burned (imo) by hiby unit that skipped and artifacted during playback.
Price
One of the best mp3 players for under $400.
For my purposes i feel this little player offers fantastic bang for the buck.
I suggest thesandisk 1tb extreme microsdxc uhs-i memory card with adapter, which is about $100.
I was sorely tempted by fancier audio players which cost four to five times what this one does.
Competitiveness
Connected to an 1100 watt bluetooth speaker (diamondboxx xl) and to my tesla model 3; it sounded so much better than my iphone 15 pro max.
I have sony speakers and headphones so i can't say if it will work as seamlessly with other brands.
Also, those sold in the us and europe have a capped volume level- a safety regulation thing.

I ended up using a 3rd party software and manually dropped the songs onto the device

You will need to enable file transfer on the device when you connect it to your computer
