Quality
The device is small, light, looks good, the sound quality is excellent and i believe it’s great value for money.
The audio quality is outstanding, with crisp highs, solid mids and deep lows (not many portable players tick all three of these boxes.
This would not be a bad thing, but somehow i felt the audio quality was not quite as expected.
Very good quality sound, but not always easy to connect to bluetooth headphones.
Competitiveness
The high-ish price point reflects this and, as such, will exclude a great many buyers who won't need the more niche features.
I paired this up with a sandisk 200gb microsd card and it provides plenty of room for all of my music.
Do not use clearaudio+; customise the sound settings to your preference.
Fantastic sound when paired with sony's 1000mx3 phones.

Things i would change i would like to be able to sort an artist’s albums by year artist names should not be case sensitive there are customisable settings for two specific headphones which aren’t available a firmware update could fix this

Out of the box this is a good device however the volume is heavily capped by default and with no way around it from within the device

Even taking low quality mp3 files and enabling an option that reinvigerates those heavily compressed files works wonders in recreating lost details

Battery life is good the menus are pretty clear not perfect but certainly usable

Be aware the mod is software no hardware modifications required however i suspect it may void your warranty
