Pros
Great little mp3 with built in radio. The sound quality is significantly better than an ipod. Since it is a little longer than my old one, it fits better in the little protector. Use it with speakers and with earbuds.
Easy to use, easy to load. I wish it had a better bookmark function. I actually really enjoy having fm radio on the player.
It runs fairly smoothly so far, but i have not loaded my own music yet. Its interface is not as slick, but it definitely transfers playlists to the player without issue. Sound quality and playback features are solid.
Cons
For people who want just a music player, our choices are lousy. It takes forever to sync music onto it.
The sonic stage software does not work on my computer. Only works on my usb 2 port. There is only cartoon pictures that you are supposed to interpret.
Looks & feels like a cheap imitation. Screen is horrible.

I love the ease of the software, the playlist capability, the sound quality and ease of use!
This sony walkman very sturdy, great sound for listening to music and old radio shows in bed.
Ran for over 4 hours and there was still battery life left.
Only one side of the ear bud would work, files not wanting to play, and just randomly shutting off and not turning back on.
Price
I paid $85 (product, taxes, shipping) for this.
The control clicks also feel inexpensive and that they will eventually fail (lots of play in them when you click).
Cons: i think the price is a little high for something so small.
) i ate the cost and purchased another sony mp3 player despite the online "average" reviews.
Packaging/appearance
It came perfectly packaged, looks nice, is a bit smaller than i expected (but that's good - too many players are larger than need be).
Competitiveness
It was very similar to my first and second sony mp3 players which basically plays music.
The application is similar to the apple itunes in layout, use and interface.
It is like the playstation 3 controller being compared with the playstation 4 controller.
Other than that, for far less than apple charges, you get a very good player that holds 20gb of music.

I cant figure out how to create playlists for the life of me which is annoying but it beats buying an iphone just for the purposes of listening to music

The plastic is different hence the different feel and actually may be the same as the ps4 controller plastic

The controls are different volume and hold buttons are now individual

The menu navigation has slight changes in a way that would annoy someone who had the previous model but once you are used to it or if you have never had one of these you wont care at all
