Pros

Sony rcdw500c compact disc player/recorder. Convenience of having a 5-disc (plus one) changer is another real bonus. For me, it's worth the nominal costs of the disks to ensure i know and can effectively utilize all the unit's features.

Cons

Don't buy this piece of junk. It's a shame you have a promotion for 30. That is a real bad promotion you have. That cd is now garbage.

If you try to play that cd, you get an error message that says c14 toc error. Sometimes when i put a blank sony cdr in, it reads no disk.

For a unit with a cost far greater than its competition, this product has one glaring flaw.

Since all music is automatically compressed in digital form, the quality of the audio isn't even worth converting to cd (at least to me).

Price

Exactly what i was looking for with some bonuses, good price.

It's only for sale second hand now.

I definitely got the cost of the unit out of it and then some, but i am writing this for anybody whom might be looking at buying one now.

(don't worry about making a few boo-boos; blank recording discs are very inexpensive.

Finding this and getting it delivered without hassle ( because of amazon's wonderful service) made my father ver, very happy.

It was shipped promptly and on time!

Competitiveness

Also, don't waste your money on verbatim, memorex, nor any other; they just won't work for the recording process.

And it seems to happen more often with the sony brand than with the maxell brand.

Perhaps the finest test equipment in the world can tell the difference--that's for others to decide.
