Pros & Cons
Pros
The loxia is a beautiful planar lens but this creates images with a whole other world of clarity and sharpness. Images look flawless in lightroom. When comparing the two lenses in lightroom, this copy is much sharper and has more contrast.
Auto focusing is crisp, fast and accurate albeit slightly noisier than i expected. I'm a big fan of the 50mm focal length, it's the sweet spot for me. The lens has auto & manual aperture controlling as well as the option to de-click the ring.
Highlights
Quality
The build quality is pure quality with a full metal exterior and rings.
I upgraded to this from the zeiss loxia 50mm f2 and the image quality is truly next level.
Comparing it side by side with the 28-70mm kit lens, the difference is stark, even at f5.
Price
In summary, if you want a 50mm prime and the cost (or weight!
Competitiveness
I'm using this with a sony a7riii.
