Highlights
Quality
This lens has all those, it's super sharp, well made, lets in lots of light ( f2.
The lens is light but solid and is really good in low light.
It's so small & light, it barely sticks out more than your fingers when holding the camera.
5 lens didn't even catch my eye, ‘what, not even an f2!
Price
At 469€, this lens was a steal!
Saved me at least £50-70 on used prices.
It cost me 450 euros, and it's worth it.
I managed to pick it up for 100€ less because of a limited time voucher.
Packaging/appearance
I happened to catch a great deal on this lens, it was like new from amazon warehouse for 394 with original box and i didn't hesitate.
However the box was not packed with any bubble wrap or similar, which meant it just was free to bounce around in the much larger box.
Only problem was the poor packaging by amazon, the lens is over £600 and the sony packaging gave good protection.
Competitiveness
There’s other cheaper options such as the samyang 18mm which is slightly wider, but i’ll come onto why i went with this.
As a long term sony shooter i have tried just about every incarnation of the 50 and 50 ish offerings from both sony and others.

Depending on what you are photographing edge sharpness is not necessarily a problem at all if you dont need perfect sharpness across the frame or you are on lower mpx body for example
