Pros

Reviewer says it's compact, light and travel-friendly. Love the coral colour.

The built-in microphone allows for hands-free calling. The mic actually sounds good, and the voice clarity was excellent. The sound quality is mind blowing.

This super compact sony bluetooth speaker really packs a bunch. Build quality of this bt speaker is great, with an attractive design and attention to detail. We are very pleased with this portable speaker; it has excellent sound quality.

Bluetooth works well on ios, android and linux. It has great sound and easy to pair with my samsung phone. It is easily detected by my phone and computer. It uses the newest bluetooth 5.

Bass is not too booming but still noticeable. Mids are clean, no audible spikes or mismatch. Equalizer on your phone can tweak the sound quality for cleaner bass.

Battery life is the best i’ve seen for a speaker producing this sound quality, it lasted 8 hours and still wasn’t completely drained.

Although i've not tested it, the manual shows the ability to own two of these speakers and stream music out of both at the same time.

I do have a sony srs xb-23 and unfortunately this speaker would not connect to that one so this is a second speaker i purchased.

Price

At $79, the sony srs-xb100 offers incredible value for the features and performance it delivers.

For the price, i highly recommend this bluetooth speaker by sony.

Packaging/appearance

Even the packaging this came in was mostly paper, which was very nice to see.

There is focus on recycled materials and more simpler packaging.

Competitiveness

I've compared it to other similar models in this price range, and it stands out with its waterproof and dustproof capabilities.

I am using srs-xb2 which has dual speakers inside with much deeper bass, but the xb100 is still very competitive to my xb2.

Over all for the price and compared to other brands i think it’s a good speaker.

The xb10 had better bass than the xb12.
