K uhd blu-ray player upscales older dvds to near 4k uhd quality just as it claims. K discs can have flaws and cause a lot of skipping and freezing, not the players fault. The upscaling on this unit is very good when watching standard blu-ray and dvds.... Read More

Menu navagation isnt bad; every thing is pretty clear and easily accesible. It is a infrared remote from what i can tell so you will need to be in line of sight to use it. It runs on two aaa batteries.

Cons

The player glitches. I want a product that works out of the box without *-rigging. Probably going to trash it and buy a panasonic instead.

The noise it makes is not pleasant. It gets quieter during normal playback, but not quiet enough. One frame displays roughly every 15 seconds.

Packaging/appearance

Comes with everything you need in the box including an hdmi cable and batteries for the remote.

I was afraid it would be reconditioned or an open box item, but it was brand new, in a box that had never been opened.

Competitiveness

It is very similar to sony's bx-370 blu-ray player interface and it even uses an identical remote control.

Also, the sound quality is better than when i watch the exact same content on the same apps on the google tv platform.

The fact that lg themselves are no longer making players, might say something about the declining interest in physical media.
