Pros

The complaints about the screen not being 1080p are very overstated. The screen is amazing with the sony rendering for normal use. To remedy this, i prop it up against the back of my desk, and anchor the stand to a fixture so if the rubber feet should...  Read More

Windows 8 is great on this device. Apps open fast, browsing is quick, multitasking seems smooth. The downside is i still like the apple app store better.

Sony's vaio tap all-in-one is the perfect family pc. This computer replaces the bulky desktop that we had. Apple's imacs are also great, but the tap 20 is easily my favorite computer. It's faster than the imac, but it's not as fast as the hp.

Overall the ability to move this from one room to another without wires is awesome. Plus the footprint is a bonus i had not even considered when i bought this. It is very handy in case you need to move it to sit somewhere else.

Cons

Even though the product was clearly defective, sony refuses to cover it under the warranty. Sony support is worthless.

Program keeps shutting down. I get these little circles popping up and causing windows to reshape. Poor wireless connection power and have to reboot before each use.

Sony's warranty/repair service is awful. Closest store is 100 miles away. They dont have free shipping for repair.

The basic feel is mediocre considering one is purchasing an entry level laptop. This goes on for hours, days or perpetually until a sony service tech works on it remotely.

Quality

It is all of that plus keyboard and mouse for those not familiar with the touch system.

With the sony vaio tap20, i have a desktop/laptop/tablet that i can rely on and love using.

Apple, well, i spit out the cool-aid but it still knows where i am with the 3g and wifi turned off.

Maybe just get a galaxy note or gs3) anyway they didn't but then i saw this product.

Competitiveness

So, really, it's still a win - windows8 having 2 different screens.

The instant i tapped on the display at bestbuy, i was sold.

(i always thought their digital to analog conversion was harsh sounding compared to panasonics mash conversion.

:)(oh, and amazon beat bestbuy's prices - for the tap20, usb-hdmi converter and cd/dvd drive.
