Pros & Cons
Pros
Good quality packaging but not ideal if you like to keep packaging to re-sell in the future. The only *only* minor issue is they don't fold. The headphone case is also really well-designed and offers great protection to the headphones when travelling.... Read More
The app is easy to use and has various permutations to customise your and if your share your headphone a second custom setting. There are one or two quirks about the app in that a repeated message appears on the tutorial. You can also swipe the earpie... Read More
The wh-1000xm5 banishes compromise and excels in all audio aspects. The noise-cancelling function is outstanding. The headset has 4 different mics all around the ear cups so it picks up all manner of sounds and effectively blocks them.
This is a classy product. With that lifespan, the price isn't as jarring. In anutshell, they are fabulous!
Cons
The pads make incredibly annoying creaking noises if you're wearing glasses. They pinch the top of the ear (the pinna) after about 15 minutes.
The noise canceling is really, really bad. The app is sufficiently spammy and cluttered. The unlovely bose app is far less bad.

Highlights
Quality

The sound quality is excellent along with the noise cancelling creates an imersive experience.
Even when trying different eq settings from the sony app, the sound is still not on par with the airpods.
Having had previous generations, though, i was disappointed with the travel case provided.
Price
I got these from currys as they price matched amazons lowest price locally at £320.
At the time of writing, the xm5s cost £70 more than the xm3s, and that isn't worth it in my view.
Packaging/appearance
The problem with this is that, if you wear glasses, the frames will leave a permanent indent into the earpads.
No boring packaging rant, let's get down to the meat and bones.
Competitiveness
I was on the fence about the build as it looked flimsy, but when you actually feel them, they are metal and are very sturdy, pr... Read More
